Setup
SINGA promotes “inclusion” as co-creation of a new culture through projects developed and implemented by refugees and non-refugees
Solution
SINGA is more than a particular “model” or “solution”. It is a new approach to “inclusion”. “Inclusion” is not about the adaption of refugees/migrants to mainstream culture. For SINGA “inclusion” is the co-creation of a new culture through projects developed and implemented by refugees and non-refugees (without highlighting this difference). Through the SINGA community, refugees are enabled to co-create society instead of just adapting to it. With this focus, SINGA constantly creates new projects and programs such as incubators for refugee entrepreneurs, cultural projects, mentoring projects, and many things more.
Impact
SINGA’s impact is very diverse depending on the project or program. Generally, the impact is the empowerment of refugees in a new country and their access to private and professional networks that support them in starting their new life. Additionally, SINGA is constantly challenging the (mental) barriers that are built between us and them through enabling direct interaction between refugees and non-refugees.
Goals
- Expand the SINGA network
- Initiate a cooperation with the Austrian social enterprise MTOP
- Transfer programs & projects to Austria that respond to national stakeholder & beneficiary needs
Needs
- Organizations interested in becoming part of the SINGA network
- Funders supporting the launch and implementation of SINGA programs in Austria
- Links with the Austrian refugee community and refugee initiatives
Transfer Model
Starting from France, SINGA is building a European network consisting of SINGA franchisees (Germany, Switzerland, etc.) and associated partners. The aim is to spread, share and further co-create the vision, mission and programs of SINGA. Interested organizations can deep-dive into the world of SINGA visiting one of their gatherings.
