Egalite Inclusion & Diversity es una empresa social brasileña que ha desarrollado una plataforma de contratación en línea, incorporando una herramienta de evaluación del perfil de comportamiento y cursos gratuitos de aprendizaje electrónico adaptados a las personas con discapacidad. La plataforma utiliza un algoritmo para calcular la mejor oportunidad para cada candidato, en función de su ubicación, educación, salario, experiencia y perfil de comportamiento. De 2015 a 2019, Egalite ha ayudado a emplear a más de 7.000 personas con discapacidad en 19 estados de Brasil.
Brazilian law requires companies of a certain size to hire persons with disabilities, but stigma, lack of access, and poor hiring practices limit the number of people employed.
Egalite’s online platform prepares, recruits, and evaluates candidates with disabilities. The platform offers free e-learning courses in interview skills, public speaking, and other skills. Candidates also complete a behavioural profile. This generates one of 3,125 possible profiles, which is then combined with the platform’s job search algorithm, taking into account location, education, and other factors.
Brazilian law requires companies with over 100 employees to include a percentage of people with disabilities in its workforce, and companies that do not comply with the law are required to pay a fine. Consequently, there is a significant demand for the matchmaking service offered by Egalite.
The website has various accessibility features, such as compatible screen readers, and also offers sign language. Candidates recruited through the Egalite platform have an average annual income 76 per cent higher than the minimum wage (120 per cent, when benefits are included). Egalite currently has 60,000 candidates in its database.
Egalite´s services are fully funded by companies paying recruitment fees based on the salary of the job opportunity. There is no charge to jobseekers with disabilities.
From 2015 to 2019, Egalite has helped to employ over 7,000 persons with disabilities in 20 states in Brazil.
